Inclusivity took center stage as Dubai Holding Entertainment celebrated its first-ever “Inclusivity Week,” uniting communities across its attractions with events designed to embrace and champion disability inclusion. This transformative initiative illuminated the power of diversity, creating meaningful experiences that inspired connection and celebrated creativity.
Kicking off the week was the inaugural “Walk of Inclusion” at Dubai Parks™ and Resort, a landmark event that brought together families, advocates, and individuals to spotlight disability inclusion. At the walk’s core stood the remarkable “Shelter of Inclusivity,” an evocative art installation developed with Canadian University Dubai and ImInclusive. This collaborative masterpiece symbolized unity and diversity, sparking conversations about inclusivity’s transformative potential.
The celebrations extended across Dubai Holding Entertainment’s portfolio with a series of engaging, inclusive activities:
- MOTIONGATETM Dubai: Partnering with the Emirates Down Syndrome Association, the park hosted a sensory-friendly photography competition that celebrated creativity in an inclusive environment.
- LEGOLAND® Dubai Resort: Families engaged in interactive STEM and emotion-building workshops, encouraging collaboration and learning through playful experiences.
- Lapita, Dubai Parks™ and Resorts: Adaptive gingerbread baking classes provided sweet memories, offering an accessible culinary adventure in collaboration with ImInclusive.
- The Green PlanetTM Dubai: Guided tours created for the visually impaired allowed participants to explore the rainforest through touch, sound, and smell. Guests also contributed to the “Nature in Colours” art wall, showcasing collective creativity inspired by biodiversity.
The spirit of inclusivity wasn’t confined to theme parks.
- Roxy Cinemas: Introduced sensory-friendly screenings with adjusted lighting, quiet zones, and accessible features, premiering the film ‘Wild Robot.’
- The View at Palm Jumeirah: Ensured accessibility with a Sign Language interpretation session, bringing stories of Dubai’s skyline to life for the Deaf community.
- Jumeirah Beach Residence and SANAD Village: Inclusive fitness classes and beach walks highlighted the week’s outdoor offerings.
- Inside Burj Al Arab: Showcased purple-themed cocktails and floral décor in honor of inclusivity.
Global Village, Coca-Cola Arena, and Ain Dubai illuminated their facades in purple, a powerful visual symbol of unity. Throughout the week, IBCCES sensory kits and thoughtful giveaways amplified the accessibility focus, while experiences like free basketball tickets at Coca-Cola Arena underscored the commitment to inclusion.
Dubai Holding Entertainment’s “Inclusivity Week” set a benchmark for fostering community connections, emphasizing that inclusivity isn’t just an event—it’s a movement.
