The next global icon in ultra-luxury hospitality is rising in one of the world’s most pristine paradises. Kerzner International and Assets Group have announced Atlantis The Royal, Maldives, a spectacular dual-island resort set to open in 2029 in the South Male Atoll. This project is not simply an expansion of the celebrated Atlantis legacy; it’s a profound reinvention, designed to blend seamlessly with the natural landscape while setting new standards for sustainable, aspirational destination experiences. This is where visionary design meets nature’s masterpiece, creating a full-spectrum luxury leisure and entertainment hub.

The resort is anchored on the shores of Vaaredhdhoo Faru island, surrounded by crystal clear waters and over 5.8 kilometers of beachfront. The sheer scale and unique concept directly address the modern traveler’s desire for customized, multi-faceted luxury.

Atlantis The Royal, Maldives will be the first dual-island destination of its kind in the region, featuring:

  • Family Island: A vibrant resort experience with 20 dining venues, sports academies, and entertainment zones.
  • Luxury Island: An exclusive retreat offering heightened sophistication and intimacy.

The resort will feature 493 keys, including 270 rooms and 223 villas and mansions. Central to the experience is the expansive 70,000-square-metre Aquaventure waterpark, promising thrilling rides anchored by the Neptune and Poseidon Towers.

Philippe Zuber, CEO of Kerzner, explained the vision: “With Atlantis The Royal, Maldives, we are not simply expanding that legacy, we are reinventing it. Here, Atlantis The Royal will be reimagined through the lens of the Maldives, architecturally, conceptually, and experientially.”

In line with the global shift towards eco-conscious travel, sustainability is a core pillar of the project. The design integrates responsible practices, energy efficiency, and water conservation systems to protect the island ecosystem. The resort will feature proactive coral and seaweed regeneration initiatives, ensuring long-term environmental resilience and preserving the Maldives’ breathtaking natural beauty. This commitment extends to the attractions, with the Lost Chambers Aquarium featuring sustainably sourced native marine life under the Atlantis Atlas Project.

The wellness offering is equally holistic and aspirational. The sanctuary will include a botanical alchemy zone, a cutting-edge spa with longevity treatments, an overwater platform for Yoga and breathwork, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. This integrated approach ensures guests can focus on balance and self-realization while enjoying the ultimate in luxury leisure.

This defining project reinforces Kerzner’s leadership in driving world-class innovation. Atlantis The Royal, Maldives will be a destination that blends ultra-luxury, sustainable integrity, and unforgettable experiences for generations of guests.
