- Treat On Us lets anyone contribute any amount to buy a meal for a stranger.
- Nine of Dubai’s most loved restaurants and cafes are already participating right now.
- Venues retain full flexibility in how they pass the gesture on to their guests.
- The initiative was founded on the belief that small acts of generosity build community.
Dubai has always been a city of grand gestures. Skyscrapers that scrape the clouds, hotels that redefine luxury, experiences designed to leave you genuinely speechless. But some of the most powerful things this city does happen quietly, at a counter, between strangers, over a cup of coffee that someone else paid for. TreatOnUs.ae is a new community-driven initiative designed to bring people closer through Dubai’s vibrant dining scene, introducing a simple yet meaningful concept: turning everyday dining moments into shared gestures of generosity across some of the city’s most loved cafes and restaurants. The idea is beautifully uncomplicated. You walk in, contribute any amount you choose, and someone else, somewhere in the city, gets a meal, a coffee, or a dessert because you decided to make their day a little better.
The mechanics are deliberately straightforward. Participating restaurants and cafes select one to three dishes or drinks, assign a price, and provide a payment link. Once live, individuals from Dubai or anywhere in the world can contribute by paying for these offerings. Each venue then retains full flexibility in how to use these contributions, whether offering them to a random guest, directing them to someone in need, or applying them in another thoughtful way, with the gesture remaining entirely at the discretion of the venue to ensure authenticity. Nobody is singled out. Nobody is made to feel like a recipient of charity. The transaction is invisible and the warmth is entirely real. Nine of Dubai’s most beloved dining spots have already signed up to be part of this, each one bringing its own personality to a shared act of community generosity:

- 21grams — the neighbourhood café known for its warm, community-forward approach
- Cafe Kutubna — a beloved cultural space where books, coffee, and community intersect
- Chaihona by Vasilchuki — one of Dubai’s most popular spots for Central Asian comfort food
- Pawdy Neighbors — a pet-friendly café with a loyal and warm-hearted regular crowd
- Rare Brasserie and Bar — elevated dining with a genuinely social spirit
- Dodo Pizza — a favourite for casual, quality pizza across the city
- Kraken Dubai — a dynamic dining destination with broad appeal
- Sobremesa — where the Spanish tradition of lingering at the table after a meal lives on
- Reif Japanese Kushiyaki — one of Dubai’s most acclaimed Japanese dining experiences
The timing of this initiative feels significant. At its core, Treat On Us is designed to strengthen community ties by working through familiar, trusted spaces, built on the idea that small acts of generosity, when channelled through everyday dining experiences, can foster a deeper sense of connection and create moments of genuine human warmth within the city. In a week where Dubai’s streets are quiet, residents are indoors, and the collective mood is heavier than usual, the reminder that community is built in small moments, a paid-forward coffee, an anonymous meal, a quiet act of care for a stranger, lands with real and particular weight. Founder Alexander Sysoev has committed to personally supporting 20 venues himself, helping to initiate the first wave of meaningful gestures for residents and visitors alike while adding early momentum to the initiative.
You don’t need to spend a lot. You don’t need to know who will receive it. You just need to walk into one of these nine venues, contribute what feels right, and trust that the city will do the rest. That’s it. That’s the whole beautiful thing.
