A new Emirates partnership could make the UAE’s northern escape easier to discover worldwide.
- Emirates partnership targets new international visitors for Ras Al Khaimah.
- Joint campaigns will spotlight mountains, beaches, resorts and culture.
- Bespoke holiday packages could reach Emirates customers directly.
- The emirate targets more than 3.5 million annual visitors by 2030.
For Dubai residents, Ras Al Khaimah has long been the easy answer to a quick escape when the city pace starts feeling a little too familiar. A drive north can trade skyscrapers for terracotta dunes, coastal resorts and the rocky slopes of Jebel Jais. Now, Ras Al Khaimah tourism is getting a much wider international window through a new partnership with Emirates.
At Arabian Travel Market 2026, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority and Emirates signed an MOU focused on attracting visitors from selected markets across the airline’s network of almost 140 destinations. Their plans include joint advertising, destination campaigns and familiarisation trips for travel trade and media.
For travellers, the interesting part is what could happen after seeing the destination online. Emirates and RAKTDA will explore bespoke packages promoted directly to airline customers, giving international holidaymakers a simpler way to pair their flights with stays and experiences across the emirate.
A Friday morning escape from Dubai can already look very different here. Families can head towards the coast around Al Marjan Island, couples can settle into resort weekends and adventure seekers can swap the city skyline for mountain roads around Jebel Jais. There’s plenty to do.

That mix is central to the emirate’s appeal. With 68 kilometres of coastline, desert dunes and the UAE’s highest mountain, Ras Al Khaimah can move easily between poolside afternoons, outdoor adventures and cultural stops. New hospitality developments are adding even more reasons to stay longer.
For international visitors, length matters too. RAKTDA is targeting more than 3.5 million annual visitors by 2030, supported by new hotels, major developments and a broader selection of experiences. The Emirates partnership gives those plans another route into overseas markets, while also creating opportunities for tour operators to build new packages around the destination.
The timing also fits a broader travel habit. Recent 2026 figures showed Ras Al Khaimah welcomed more than 670,000 visitors in the first half of the year, with domestic arrivals rising 47 percent year on year. Short breaks are clearly resonating.
For UAE residents, that familiar weekend destination is gaining a bigger international stage. For visitors flying into Dubai, it could become an easy addition to the itinerary rather than a separate trip. That is the real attraction: more ways to experience the UAE beyond the familiar city circuit.
As Emirates and RAKTDA develop their campaigns, travellers can expect Ras Al Khaimah’s mountains, beaches, resorts and cultural experiences to appear across more international travel channels. For anyone planning their next UAE escape, it may be time to look a little further north!
