January weekends in the UAE have a way of turning into full-day plans, especially when Yas Island is involved. This time, IIFA 2027 Abu Dhabi gives Bollywood fans another reason to make the drive, with two days of Indian cinema, live entertainment and star power arriving at Etihad Arena on January 22 and 23.
A regular Yas Island day can already stretch from brunch to attractions and dinner. This one goes much later. IIFA Awards 2027 will bring Karan Johar and Varun Dhawan together as hosts, while Salman Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Janhvi Kapoor are set to perform. Expect plenty of camera flashes.
For Bollywood fans, the appeal is also in the atmosphere around the main show. Yas Island gives the weekend room to become more than a ceremony, with visitors able to pair the Etihad Arena event with dining, hotels and the destination’s wider entertainment offering. It feels made for a winter escape.
Then there’s the digital side. IIFA Digital Awards 2027 will be hosted by Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal, giving the weekend a separate spotlight on the way Indian stories are being created and consumed online. It adds a different rhythm to the celebrations.
The biggest shift, however, happens beyond Abu Dhabi. For the first time, the IIFA Awards will be livestreamed globally on YouTube, meaning fans who can’t make it to Yas Island can still follow the ceremony live. That changes the scale. The arena becomes one part of the audience.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi gets another major Indian entertainment weekend just as UAE winter is at its most inviting. Friends can plan dinner around the show, families can build a Yas Island staycation around it, and Bollywood devotees can turn two January dates into a full cinema-fuelled escape.
Tickets are already on sale, too. The fourth IIFA showcase in Abu Dhabi arrives with Sobha Realty continuing its partnership, ZEE returning as broadcast partner and YouTube opening a new digital chapter for the event.
For anyone already planning their January calendar, this is one weekend worth circling. IIFA 2027 brings the stars to Yas Island, while the rest of the world gets a front-row view from wherever they are!
