New Year’s Eve plans tend to divide into two camps: an evening spent around a dinner table or a night built around live music, a cheering crowd and a countdown everyone remembers. For fans of Punjabi music, Diljit Dosanjh Abu Dhabi could make the decision rather easy. The global superstar is bringing his AURA World Tour to Etihad Live on Yas Island for a one-night celebration on 31 December 2026.
There’s a big moment waiting at midnight. The concert will lead into the first moments of 2027, with a countdown and surprises planned throughout the night. It is also the tour’s only Middle East date, giving fans across the UAE and the wider region one evening to catch the show without travelling overseas.
From Sydney and Kuala Lumpur to London, New York, Mumbai and Delhi, the AURA World Tour has covered 40 cities across 15 countries and five continents. Its numbers tell quite a story. Diljit has drawn more than 90,000 fans across Australian stadium shows, while the 2026 North American leg attracted over 225,000 people and grossed USD 32 million across 15 performances. Two consecutive nights at Madison Square Garden and a sold-out Wembley Stadium show on 12 September added to the milestones.
For longtime listeners, the setlist carries plenty of familiar favourites. Tracks such as G.O.A.T, Lover and Proper Patola have collectively crossed 700 million views, while collaborations with Sia on Hass Hass and J Balvin on a remix of Senorita have taken his music to audiences well beyond Punjabi pop. The tour supports his album Aura, released in October 2025. Expect a catalogue with range.
His appeal also stretches beyond music. Born in Punjab, Diljit made history as the first Indian-born artist to perform at Coachella in 2023. His acting work earned an International Emmy nomination in 2025 for his performance in Netflix’s Amar Singh Chamkila, while his custom ivory Prabal Gurung sherwani at the Met Gala earned him recognition from VOGUE readers for his style.
For Abu Dhabi, the concert adds another major live music moment to a New Year’s Eve calendar where headline performances are a familiar part of the celebrations. Friends making the trip from Dubai, residents planning a night out on Yas Island and fans travelling from across the region can all build their year-end plans around one venue. The setting is Etihad Live, and the date is firmly in the diary.
