For Dubai drivers, a luxury car often has two lives. It can glide through Sheikh Zayed Road traffic during the week, then disappear towards Abu Dhabi or Ras Al Khaimah on a long weekend. Bentley Torcal arrives with that lifestyle in mind, pairing the instant character of electric power with the craftsmanship expected from a Bentley.
The first impression comes from the proportions. A long bonnet, short overhangs and muscular rear haunches give the Torcal a planted stance, while its illuminated diamond grille adds a distinctly modern signature. It looks dramatic without relying on visual excess.
Inside, the mood shifts from road presence to tactile detail. Leather, wool, veneer and aluminium sit alongside new sustainable materials, including a 100% Merino wool automotive fabric developed with Somerset weaver Fox Brothers. It feels warm. The Ombré Walnut finish uses layers of sustainably sourced walnut off-cuts and recycled paper, turning an environmental consideration into something worth touching.
Long drives demand more than beautiful materials. They demand comfort. The Torcal’s seats offer 16-way adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage, while its optional Wellness Seat Specification extends the massage function into the legs. For someone leaving Dubai after work and heading towards the coast, that could make a meaningful difference before arrival.
Performance remains firmly in Bentley territory. The core model produces 821 PS and 1,194 Nm, while the Torcal S reaches 888 PS and 1,350 Nm with Launch Control active, cutting the 0-60 mph sprint to 2.8 seconds. That’s serious pace. Yet Bentley has deliberately paired it with fully active suspension and all-wheel steering, creating a driving experience focused on control as much as acceleration.
Electric ownership also becomes easier to picture across the UAE. The Torcal offers up to 600 km of WLTP range and can charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 16 minutes at 400 kW, adding roughly 100 miles in seven minutes. A quick charging stop can fit neatly between destinations.
Perhaps the most unexpected detail is what happens when the accelerator is pressed. Rather than simply recreating an engine note digitally, Bentley created its Dynamic Symphony using real instruments, including drums, viola and bass guitar, inspired by the rhythm of its historic 6¾ litre V8. Sound still matters.
Even the cabin can change character. Bentley Mode focuses on balance, Comfort reduces distractions, Sport intensifies the visual and acoustic experience, while Refresh increases fresh-air circulation and brightens the atmosphere. For a late-night Dubai drive, the difference can be felt without changing cars.
The Torcal is therefore less about replacing Bentley’s identity than translating it into a new powertrain. With handcrafted details, substantial electric performance and a cabin built around personal comfort, it gives UAE luxury drivers a very different way to experience the marque.
