Bentley’s New State-of-the-Art Paint Shop Begins Operations with Launch of Spectraflair Finish!

A state of the art facility opens in Crewe, introducing advanced robotics and spectacular pigment options.

  • Bentley opens a massive twelve thousand square meter paint facility.
  • Automated guided vehicles move car bodies dynamically across two floors.
  • The new Spectral Verdant finish shifts color under natural light.
  • Eco friendly systems slash production waste by forty five percent.

Car collectors across the Gulf are no longer satisfied with standard color palettes. Wealthy drivers want their vehicles to reflect individual personality, requiring intricate color shifting pigments and hand painted details that stand out when beating the scorching desert sun. This obsession with hyper personalization has forced heritage manufacturers to completely rethink their traditional production lines. Artistic expression is now just as important as horsepower.

Meeting this desire for immaculate tailoring, Bentley has officially opened its new multi level paint shop in Crewe. This launch represents a massive milestone for the production of bespoke luxury cars, expanding the available exterior color options to nearly one hundred individual shades. The facility uses automated guided vehicles to move car bodies between workstations. It is the first automotive paint shop in the world to use these self propelled carriers to give artisans total flexibility over every chassis.

To celebrate the launch, the brand unveiled a one of one Continental GT S sporting a brand new paint technique called Spectraflair. The unique Spectral Verdant hue appears as a deep metallic green in shade but transforms into a sparkling spectrum of colors under direct sunlight. Artisans also spent days hand spraying a pearl racing stripe along the body. This level of detail highlights the brand’s dedication to custom automotive finishes, which will soon extend to its highly anticipated luxury electric vehicle arriving later this year.

Importantly, this digital manufacturing push does not sacrifice the environment. The space features smart thermal management that captures rising heat from the machinery on the top floor and redirects it to keep the craftsmen comfortable downstairs. This clever design eliminates the need for heating during two thirds of the year.

“This paint shop will help to solidify our position as leaders in paint quality,” explains Andreas Lehe, Board Member for Manufacturing.

By introducing water based primers and reducing masking waste, the factory has cut overall material waste by forty five percent. It proves that heavy personalization can coexist with conscious engineering. Expect to see these shimmering new shades arriving on regional roads very soon!
