Dark winter nights just met their match as a wave of fresh entertainment arrives to liven up the New Year. Disney Plus is starting 2026 with a massive slate of content ranging from bone-chilling thrillers to epic global expeditions. Whether you are looking for a gritty historical drama or a lighthearted binge-watch, the January calendar is packed with enough variety to keep every member of the family entertained.
The action starts early with the second season of the original series “A Thousand Blows”. Set in the Victorian era, this story follows the Forty Elephants as they fight to take down their rivals in a world of power struggles and surprising romance. For those who prefer modern-day tension, “Tell Me Lies” returns for its third season on 13 January. The drama at Baird College reaches a boiling point as Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco navigate their messy relationship while past secrets threaten to resurface.
National Geographic is also bringing the heat with awe-inspiring nature and travel documentaries. Will Smith takes viewers on a breathtaking journey from the top to the bottom of the world in “Pole to Pole,” premiering on 14 January. You can also get up close with the wild in “Cheetahs Up Close with Bertie Gregory” or discover the beauty of the natural world in “The Tale of Silyan”. These stunning visuals provide the perfect escape for those dreaming of far-off lands and high-stakes adventure.
Later in the month, the platform leans into the supernatural and the cinematic. Ryan Murphy’s newest creation, “The Beauty,” arrives on 22 January featuring an incredible cast including Evan Peters and Rebecca Hall. This thriller uncovers a conspiracy within the fashion industry that goes deeper than anyone expected. Finally, Marvel fans can look forward to “Wonder Man” on 28 January, which offers a unique look at two actors at opposite ends of their careers chasing a role that will change everything.
