Seventeen days of gaming, esports, education and interactive experiences are coming to Dubai in April.
- Dubai Esports Festival returns with 17 days of gaming across Dubai.
- GameExpo brings major competitions and community experiences to DWTC.
- Dubai Games Week adds fresh energy to the citywide programme.
- Gaming, education and industry connections share the same spotlight.
For many Dubai families, a gaming day can now stretch far beyond a console at home. Friends meet over competitive matches, children discover new digital worlds, and technology becomes part of the entertainment itself. Dubai Esports Festival is leaning into that wider culture when it returns from 9 to 25 April 2027. There’s plenty to explore.
A weekend at Dubai World Trade Centre can look very different once gaming takes over the halls. GameExpo will return from 23 to 25 April, bringing high-energy esports competitions, community experiences and immersive entertainment together under one roof. Expect noise, screens and plenty of action.
Students and aspiring creators have another reason to pay attention. DEF 2027 is expanding its education and industry programming, placing learning alongside play and competition. That matters in a city where gaming is increasingly connected to technology, creativity and future career opportunities.

Across the 17-day programme, Dubai Games Week will add another layer to the festival, creating more opportunities for players, fans, students and industry professionals to connect. Instead of keeping everything inside one exhibition, DEF 2027 is spreading the experience across the city.
The scale is already visible in the festival’s recent numbers. DEF 2026 welcomed more than 43,000 visitors, while AED 1 million in prizes was awarded across gaming, esports and cosplay competitions. Those figures give next year’s edition plenty to build on, particularly for fans who enjoy the community side of esports as much as the competition itself.
For gaming brands, developers and businesses, the April calendar also opens a different door. Sponsorship and exhibitor registration is now open, giving companies a chance to place themselves inside a festival that brings audiences, talent, education and the wider gaming industry into the same conversation. That connection matters.
Come April, Dubai’s gaming scene will have 17 days to play with. From GameExpo’s packed DWTC schedule to citywide experiences and new education-led programming, DEF 2027 is shaping up as a festival for people who play, create, compete, learn and simply love being around gaming culture!
