Day one rolled out a palette of spectacle and taste as Salon du Chocolat et de la Pâtisserie Dubai opened at Madinat Jumeirah, turning chocolate into runway couture and live theatre. Chefs, designers, baristas and dessert lovers filled the Madinat Arena for a three-day celebration that blended craft, competition and creativity in truly delicious ways.

Fashion and pastry collided at the heart of the show with the signature Chocolate Fashion Show, presented under the theme A Sweet Journey Around the Globe. Fourteen couture gowns made of chocolate walked the pink carpet, the result of collaborations between top pastry chefs and ESMOD Dubai designers. The spectacle gave a striking, tactile display of what happens when meticulous pastry technique meets runway imagination. Featured names onstage and in the program highlighted the event’s international pull and creative depth.

Beyond the runway, the floor pulsed with craft and competition. Around 26 world-class chefs staged live demonstrations and masterclasses, serving up everything from velvety ganaches to delicate sugar work. Professionals and home bakers faced off across 12 competitive categories, including 3D Cake Design, Handmade Pralines and Best Cheesecake, with judging panels stacked with industry veterans. The Talks and Brew Bar added context and curiosity, pairing cocktail craft with coffee innovation to remind visitors that sweet gastronomy now sits at the crossroads of flavour science and creative hospitality.

What this edition made clear is that Salon du Chocolat is both a trade crucible and a public spectacle. It brought product launches, new pairing ideas, and hands-on learning to a region hungry for culinary experiences. For professionals it offered sourcing and networking; for enthusiasts it offered the rare chance to see technique up close and taste next-season trends in chocolate and pastry.

This festival closes on October 2, but its flavors and ideas will linger, from the runway gowns to the tiny pralines that stole the judges’ hearts. Book tickets or learn more at the official event site and plan a visit to taste the next wave of sweet creativity!
