• Emirates Transport partners with EDSA to provide inclusive transportation services.
  • Dedicated bus services enable access to education and recreational activities.
  • Over 686 beneficiaries benefit from vocational training and therapy programs.
  • Collaboration supports UAE’s vision for inclusion and equal opportunities.

In a significant move toward fostering inclusivity, Emirates Transport (ET) has partnered with the Emirates Down Syndrome Association (EDSA) to enhance accessibility for individuals with Down syndrome across the UAE. With transportation playing a vital role in enabling participation, this collaboration ensures that individuals with Down syndrome have seamless access to education, recreation, and vocational training—helping bridge the gap between opportunity and accessibility.

As part of this initiative, ET will provide dedicated bus services for EDSA’s programs, facilitating participation in up to 12 annual events and four monthly trips for educational and recreational activities in Dubai. This logistical support strengthens EDSA’s mission to empower its 686+ beneficiaries with services such as early intervention, speech therapy, vocational training, and even specialized programs like the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Club and the Emirates Down Syndrome Hospitality Academy.

Speaking on the partnership, Peter Milner Joergensen, Acting CEO & CFO of Emirates Transport, emphasized ET’s commitment to social responsibility:
“We are honored to support the Emirates Down Syndrome Association in their mission to empower individuals with Down syndrome. Reliable transportation is key to inclusion, and this collaboration highlights the impact of public-private partnerships in building a more supportive society.”

The initiative also aligns with the UAE’s broader vision of integrating people of determination into society and providing equal opportunities for their growth and development. Dr. Manal Jaarour, Chairman of EDSA, expressed gratitude, stating:
“Reliable transport is a game-changer for our beneficiaries. It ensures smooth access to learning, social activities, and skill development—enhancing their overall well-being.”

With the UAE being one of the first nations to ratify the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, partnerships like these reinforce the country’s commitment to inclusion. Through practical support and innovative programs, Emirates Transport and EDSA are paving the way for a future where accessibility is not a privilege but a standard.
