Dubai’s culinary landscape welcomes an extraordinary new addition—Gerbou, a restaurant that seamlessly blends Emirati heritage with global influences to offer an unparalleled dining experience. Brought to life through the collaboration of Atelier House Hospitality and Tashkeel, Gerbou is more than just a place to eat—it’s a celebration of art, craftsmanship, and storytelling through food.

Nestled within a beautifully restored 1987 Dubai building, Gerbou’s design, led by Kristina Zanic Consultants, pays homage to the UAE’s cultural roots while embracing contemporary aesthetics. Every element—from the custom-made palm tree-patterned door handle to the naturally fallen Ghaf tree furnishings—invites guests into a space where history and modernity coexist. The restaurant’s interiors tell a tale of Emirati craftsmanship, with intricate Sadu weaving inlays, camel leather seating, and a breathtaking Herbarium chandelier encapsulating nature in crystallized glass.

Gerbou’s menu, curated by the internationally acclaimed Chef Ionel Catau, offers a symphony of flavors, merging locally cherished ingredients with global culinary techniques. From breakfast to dinner, and the exquisite Emirati high-tea experience, Fwala, every dish reflects a thoughtful balance between authenticity and innovation. The restaurant’s underground pit cooking technique, inspired by Emirati traditions, infuses meats with deep, smoky richness, while award-winning Emirati pastry chef Sahar Al Awadhi redefines local sweets with her artistic touch.

At its core, Gerbou is a movement—a dining destination that bridges the past, present, and future of Emirati cuisine. It’s an immersive space where food, art, and culture intertwine, inviting diners to embark on a journey of taste and tradition unlike any other in Dubai.

Gerbou is now open in Nad Al Sheba 1, Dubai. For those ready to indulge in an experience that redefines Emirati cuisine, this is a destination not to be missed.
