Himitsu Now Launches Suntory Whisky Series in Dubai!

  • Himitsu debuts Suntory whisky flights paired with crafted Japanese small plates.
  • Three curated tasting flights spotlight Toki, Yamazaki, and Hibiki expressions.
  • Himitsu cocktails like Himitsu no Kagi reinvent whisky cocktail ritual.
  • Intimate launch event on September fourth features limited editions and pairings.

Last month Dubai’s secretive bar scene welcomed a fresh dialogue between Japanese whisky and gastronomy, as Himitsu introduces the Himitsu Whisky Series with Suntory. The launch pairs classic pours and inventive cocktails with delicate handrolls and sashimi. Guests are invited to explore curated flights that reveal subtle smoke, fruit and floral notes across Yamazaki, Toki and Hibiki.

Himitsu’s programme is designed for tasting rather than mere drinking, and each offer reads like a short, elegant itinerary. The a la carte selection invites classic glasses of Toki, Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve and Hibiki Harmony, while four signature cocktail mixes showcase whisky in inventive forms. Highlights include the three tasting flights named Lanterns of Kyoto priced at AED 120, Shadows in Red at AED 135, and A Night’s Three Paths at AED 155, each paired with artisan handrolls, maki, nigiri or a dessert finish.

The experience leans into atmosphere as much as flavour. Himitsu sits within Alba at Dubai Opera Plaza, an intimate setting that suits small groups and after-opera visits. Bar Manager Dikshant Tanwar, who leads the programme, describes the series as “an immersion into Japanese craftsmanship,” and each serve is staged to reveal the whisky’s hidden layers. Whether you are a seasoned collector or a curious newcomer, the menu invites tasting across styles, and the cocktails such as Himitsu no Kagi and Serve of Stillness offer accessible entry points into whisky appreciation.

Himitsu also layers its calendar with events, including guest shifts and themed nights that turn a tasting into an occasion. Given the intimate seating and curated format, reservations are recommended for launch events and weekend evenings. Prices range from classic single pours to the full three-path tasting, making the series suitable for sharing or for a focused personal exploration of Suntory’s liquid heritage.

Reserve a seat for Himitsu’s whisky journey and discover how Japanese whisky and curated pairings can reshape an evening. Bookings are available via the restaurant’s booking channels and social handles.
