• Celebrating a decade of empowering women in Sharjah and beyond.
  • 400+ women equipped with leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Real-world sustainability projects with BEEAH Group drive impactful change.
  • New MoU strengthens commitment to gender equality and innovation.

Sharjah, the cultural heartbeat of the Arab world, has once again become the stage for a transformative movement. The Nomu Al Ghurair – Women Empowerment Program returned for its 10th edition, marking a decade of inspiring leadership, innovation, and gender equality. This milestone event, held in collaboration with the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation (AGF), NAMA Women Advancement, Skyrize Partners, BEEAH Group, and the University of Sharjah, continues to redefine what it means to empower women in the Arab world.

Since its inception, the program has become a beacon of hope and opportunity for over 400 women, equipping them with the tools to excel in their careers and personal lives. This year’s cohort, however, is special—not just because of the program’s 10th anniversary, but also due to a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AGF and NAMA Women Advancement. This partnership amplifies their shared mission to foster gender equality and create a ripple effect of positive change across the UAE and beyond.

The Nomu Al Ghurair – Women Empowerment Program isn’t just another leadership workshop—it’s a movement. The curriculum, enriched by contributions from industry leaders, focuses on Leadership Development, Strategic Planning, and Communication Essentials. But what truly sets it apart is its hands-on approach. Participants tackle real-world challenges, such as a sustainability and social impact project with BEEAH Group, gaining invaluable insights and experience that go beyond theory.

The program culminated in a capstone event at the University of Sharjah, where participants presented their innovative projects to a high-profile panel. These presentations weren’t just about showcasing ideas—they were a testament to the transformative power of the program, highlighting how women are stepping into leadership roles with confidence and creativity.

Dr. Sonia Ben Jaafar, CEO of AGF, emphasized the program’s significance: “This program is a significant step in advancing opportunities for women to lead and succeed across the region. By focusing on practical skills and connecting participants with industry leaders, we are addressing the broader need for gender equity while preparing a more inclusive and resilient workforce equipped to drive regional progress.”

Her Excellency Maryam Al Hammadi of NAMA Women Advancement echoed this sentiment: “At NAMA, we believe in the power of women to lead, inspire, and create change. The Nomu Al Ghurair Women Empowerment Program reflects this belief by giving women the skills and confidence to grow and succeed. We are proud to see the impact of this program, especially here in Sharjah, as it continues to empower women to shape a brighter future for themselves and their communities.”

Sarah Sefiane, Founder of Skyrize Partners, added: “Having kicked off the Nomu Al Ghurair Women Empowerment Program a year ago here in Sharjah, we’re proud to return for the 10th cohort. The combination of upskilling female learners with management and leadership skills while connecting them with well-known international corporates has proven to be very successful. Through this unique approach, we’re creating a powerful ecosystem where women can thrive, inspire, and lead the next generation early on.”

Over the past decade, the Nomu Al Ghurair – Women Empowerment Program has become more than just a platform for learning—it’s a catalyst for change. By nurturing talent and creating opportunities for women, the program is shaping a new generation of leaders who are ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.

As the program continues to grow, its impact is felt not just in the UAE but across the Arab region. It’s a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and the unwavering belief in the potential of women to lead and inspire.
