CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity trailblazer, is renowned for its eight-year journey in the realm of AI-powered security solutions. Their legacy of innovation and data-driven excellence has solidified their position as a global tech leader. At GITEX 2023, our team had the opportunity to interview Roland Daccache, Senior Manager of Sales Engineering at CrowdStrike MEA, to gain insights into their unique presence at this global tech event. Mr. Daccache shared why GITEX was the chosen platform to unveil CrowdStrike’s remarkable innovations.
He emphasized GITEX’s significance as a thriving hub for all things tech, AI, and cybersecurity in the Middle East. Mr. Daccache noted the remarkable increase in footfall at GITEX, making it the busiest he had ever witnessed. CrowdStrike’s presence at GITEX aimed to connect with individuals passionate about cybersecurity, forge alliances with partners, engage with their channel community, and reach out to prospects and customers. It was a dynamic GITEX for CrowdStrike.
When questioned about CrowdStrike’s uniqueness at GITEX this year, Mr. Daccache highlighted the role of AI. While AI took center stage at GITEX, he pointed out that CrowdStrike had been actively harnessing AI for over eight years. They collected vast amounts of threat data and event data from millions of endpoints across the globe, training their AI models in the cloud. Currently, they process trillions of event data every day, and they are at an advanced stage of leveraging AI, setting them apart in the market cluttered with AI hype.
Speaking about recent announcements, Mr. Daccache shared that their focus this year revolved around exposure management. CrowdStrike launched a new product, Exposure Management, unifying vulnerability management, compliance benchmarking, asset discovery, and external attack surface management on their platform. It was a hot topic for CrowdStrike at GITEX.
Looking into the future, he hinted at numerous upcoming announcements, from the introduction of Charlotte AI, a natural language chatbot, to improvements on the platform, enhancements in identity security, and new modules in cloud security. CrowdStrike has a series of exciting news to share in the coming months.
In terms of expanding their capabilities, Mr. Daccache discussed CrowdStrike’s plans to ingest third-party data into their XDR platform. This development, known as the Raptor release, aims to enhance detection and threat hunting capabilities. They are cautious about the data they ingest, ensuring it is sanitized and fit for enhancing threat detection.
As the interview concluded, Mr. Daccache underscored the importance of collecting the right telemetry and events for effective threat detection, rather than being a mere collector of log data.
GITEX 2023 witnessed CrowdStrike’s commitment to AI and cybersecurity, and Mr. Daccache’s insights shed light on their achievements and future endeavors.
