In a vibrant showcase of commitment and innovation, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) made a significant impact at the 13th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF 2024) held on September 4 and 5. This year’s theme, “Agile Governments… Innovative Communication,” set the stage for critical discussions that underscored the vital role of effective government communication in fostering economic resilience.

Hosted at the Expo Centre Sharjah, the forum provided a platform for SCCI to highlight its strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the business environment in Sharjah. As a strategic partner and key sponsor, the Chamber led several pivotal panel discussions, reflecting its dedication to promoting sustainable economic growth and strengthening the emirate’s position as a global business hub.

One of the standout moments was the panel discussion titled “The Impact of Government Communication on Economic Resilience,” led by Fatema Khalifa Al Muqarrab, the Chamber’s Director of International Relations. This session illustrated the Chamber’s proactive approach in engaging with international trade and business delegations, facilitating increased foreign investments, and bolstering trade relations. Over the first half of 2024, the SCCI successfully met with over 35 official and diplomatic delegations and organized numerous meetings with business leaders, further establishing Sharjah as a premier investment destination.

The forum also highlighted the Sharjah Chamber’s role in managing critical initiatives, such as the “Researchers” platform, led by Aisha Saleh, Director of the Festivals and Promotions Department. This initiative aims to enhance government communication through knowledge sharing and scientific research support. The “Research Initiatives” session, which took place on the second day, showcased the Chamber’s commitment to intellectual and academic development, emphasizing the importance of fostering innovative ideas in economic resilience.

As a strategic highlight, the Sharjah Chamber sponsored a main session titled “From the Heart of a Resilient Economy to the Art of Communication.” This engaging session gathered esteemed experts who discussed how governments can leverage communication strategies to promote sustainable economic growth and long-term success.

At the conclusion of the forum, the Sharjah Chamber was recognized for its contributions during a special ceremony, with Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director of Economic Relations and Marketing at SCCI, proudly accepting an award on behalf of the Chamber. This recognition not only highlights SCCI’s commitment to economic resilience but also reinforces its position as a key player in the region’s economic landscape.

In summary, the Sharjah Chamber’s active participation in IGCF 2024 reflects its pioneering efforts to support economic resilience, promote Sharjah as a strategic business hub, and enhance government communication, paving the way for sustainable growth in the emirate.
