For the first time, São Tomé and Príncipe, Ecuador and Belize join the festival lineup, broadening representation and fresh storytelling perspectives.

FANN’s Global Children and Youth Film Congress will convene filmmakers, educators and industry specialists to discuss storytelling, policy and the role of festivals in growing young audiences. SIFF Pop-Up at Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park brings practical workshops such as Emirati Comics Draw Your Story, a Photography and Documentation Tour, and creative product design sessions with studio Waggish. VOX Cinemas will host student-focused workshops, giving young participants hands-on craft time and opportunities to have their work showcased.
Beyond screenings, SIFF is designed to connect creators with communities. Expect Q and A sessions, mentorship moments, and chances for young filmmakers to pitch ideas, meet jurors and test their work in front of real audiences. The program balances international cinema with regionally relevant stories, nurturing a new generation of storytellers while celebrating cinema’s capacity to bridge cultures.
