Sharjah Rises: Gama Aviation Now Develops Business Aviation Centre

  • Gama Aviation is building a landmark Business Aviation Centre (BAC) at Sharjah International Airport.
  • The purpose-built facility includes a 3,000 sqm VVIP Terminal and a 12,000 sqm Hangar.
  • The BAC is scheduled for completion in early 2026, offering efficiency and proximity to Dubai.
  • The move capitalizes on Dubai International Airport’s planned closure, making Sharjah a credible, high-quality alternative.

A significant new piece of infrastructure is set to redefine the Middle East’s executive air travel. Gama Aviation has confirmed major progress on the construction of its new Business Aviation Centre (BAC) at Sharjah International Airport. This multi-million-dollar investment reinforces Gama Aviation’s long-term confidence in the UAE and is scheduled for completion in early 2026. The project uniquely positions Sharjah as a critical, efficient gateway for private operators and owners across the Gulf region.

The Sharjah BAC is a strategic response to the increasing congestion at major hubs and the future consolidation of operations at Dubai World Central (DWC). Unlike many Fixed-Base Operators (FBOs) that retrofit existing terminals, the Sharjah BAC has been conceived from the ground up as a single, integrated ecosystem dedicated entirely to the client experience.

Key elements emphasize speed, privacy, and scale:

  • VVIP Terminal: A 3,000 sqm contemporary design featuring private lounges, relaxation suites, and an observation bar with curated hospitality.
  • Premium Hangar: A 12,000 sqm purpose-built structure for secure aircraft parking, storage, and integrated Line Maintenance capability. The hangar incorporates wide-span doors and direct apron access for multiple large-cabin jets.
  • Seamless Crew Amenities: Dedicated rest suites, 24-hour dining, briefing rooms, and priority parking ensure a fluid, efficient experience for flight crews.

Tom Murphy, Managing Director – FBO Services at Gama Aviation, stated, “We are not building this facility to meet expectations, we are designing it to exceed them. Every detail, from terminal flow to hangar layout, has been created around the client experience: faster transitions, greater privacy, and service excellence.”

The decision to expand in Sharjah is a powerful testament to the emirate’s strategic appeal. Sharjah International Airport provides a well-connected alternative to more congested hubs, capitalizing on its pro-business environment and ideal accessibility.

  • Proximity and Efficiency: The BAC offers essential proximity to Dubai’s economic centers while guaranteeing operational efficiency and minimal slot restrictions—a crucial advantage for business aviation operators.
  • Economic Alignment: The project aligns directly with the UAE’s Vision 2030 roadmap for sustainable growth and diversification, delivering world-class aviation infrastructure and creating high-value employment opportunities.

Gama Aviation has successfully operated from the airport since 2014, and this new BAC strengthens that partnership, positioning Sharjah as a regional centre of excellence for aviation services and integrated MRO infrastructure.

The Gama Aviation Business Aviation Centre in Sharjah is set to redefine private aviation in the Middle East in early 2026, offering an efficient, luxurious alternative for global operators.
