Family experiences in Dubai are changing. Parents increasingly seek activities that offer more than entertainment, while children respond best to experiences that encourage participation, creativity and discovery. Across the UAE, museums and cultural institutions have begun embracing this shift, creating interactive experiences that transform learning into something memorable. This July, Etihad Museum workshops are tapping directly into that growing trend with a series of family-focused creative sessions inspired by the heritage and national identity of the UAE.
Designed for visitors of all ages, the workshops combine hands-on activities with cultural storytelling, creating opportunities for families to connect with both creativity and history.
Throughout July, visitors can participate in two specially curated workshop experiences: the Memories Frame workshop and the Create Your Cultural Pouch workshop. Both activities invite participants to create personal keepsakes while exploring themes deeply connected to Emirati identity, tradition and community.

Across the UAE, cultural tourism has increasingly shifted toward immersive participation rather than passive observation. Families are no longer satisfied with simply viewing exhibitions. They want opportunities to create, engage and leave with memories they helped shape themselves.
The Memories Frame workshop encourages participants to preserve personal stories and moments through creative expression, while the Cultural Pouch workshop introduces traditional design influences through practical craftsmanship. Both experiences invite children and adults to work together, creating conversations that often extend beyond the museum walls.
Cultural institutions across the Emirates are placing greater emphasis on making heritage accessible, interactive and relevant for younger generations. Rather than presenting history as something distant, experiences increasingly encourage participants to engage directly with cultural traditions and national identity.
Held between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM throughout selected dates in July, the workshops complement Etihad Museum’s broader mission of preserving and sharing the story of the UAE’s formation. By combining education with creativity, the museum creates experiences that feel both meaningful and enjoyable.
As summer continues across Dubai, families searching for experiences that balance entertainment, education and cultural connection may find that some of the most memorable moments happen not inside a classroom, but around a shared creative project inspired by the story of a nation!
