Beautyworld Dubai 2026 Opens With A Powerful Day One!

From fragrance growth to celebrity artistry, Day 1 set the beauty conversation in motion.

  • Global fragrance leaders opened Day 1 with fresh growth insights.
  • Investment, luxury retail and GCC beauty took centre stage.
  • Mary Phillips brought celebrity artistry into Dubai’s Makeup Studio.
  • Oud, niche fragrance and modern glam shaped the show floor.

By Tuesday morning, the Dubai World Trade Centre was already buzzing with beauty professionals moving between conference rooms, fragrance showcases and live demonstrations. For Beautyworld Dubai 2026, the opening day of its 30th edition quickly became less about simply seeing what’s new and more about understanding where beauty is heading next.

Fragrance took an early lead. At 10:30, the Next in Fragrance Conference opened with Farah K. Ahmed of the Fragrance Creators Association examining where global fragrance growth is coming from and which categories are gaining momentum. It was a data-led start to a day where scent repeatedly returned to the spotlight.

Across the hall, beauty’s business side was moving just as quickly. Euromonitor International’s Amna Abbas explored where global beauty growth is really happening, followed by William Lau of Ushopal and BeautyMatter’s John Cafarelli unpacking the new investment playbook. Funding, clinical skincare, wellness, fragrance and retail technology all entered the conversation.

By midday, the mood shifted from numbers to artistry. Master perfumer Aurélien Guichard brought his creative perspective to the Fragrance Conference, while Dirk Lauven and Khalid Iqbal explored how oud can be viewed through a more contemporary lens. Dubai’s relationship with fragrance felt especially present here.

Makeup brought another kind of energy. Aya Abdelhamid’s live session focused on skin preparation, lightweight complexion work and the details that make glamour translate both in person and on camera. Then came Mary Phillips at The Makeup Studio, where her signature underpainting technique gave professionals a closer look at the thinking behind effortless-looking celebrity makeup.

The business conversation returned in the afternoon. BeautyMatter founder Kelly Kovack examined the GCC through a sharper regional lens, including why Saudi Arabia and the UAE need to be understood as distinct beauty markets and how creators are influencing purchasing behaviour. For anyone watching the region’s beauty economy, this was one of Day 1’s most relevant discussions.

Then came the spectacle. Dimitris Giannetos took the beautyLIVE stage for a live hair demonstration, while M.A.C Global Senior Artist Mariam Khairallah shared practical colour techniques and kit essentials at The Makeup Studio.

By evening, Mary Phillips returned to the Next in Beauty Conference for a closing conversation about her career, creative process and the future of artistry and influence. It was a fitting final note for a first day that moved constantly between commerce and creativity.

Beautyworld Dubai 2026 has three days still to unfold, but Day 1 has already made one thing clear: Dubai’s beauty conversation is happening across fragrance, artistry, investment and regional identity!
