Carrefour Market Dubai Gets a Fresh and Exclusive Premium Upgrade!

Majid Al Futtaim reimagines neighbourhood grocery shopping with food, wellness and community experiences.

  • Carrefour launches its first premium supermarket concept in the UAE.
  • Fresh food offerings now occupy nearly forty percent of space.
  • The retailer introduces its first-ever BakeHouse Café experience.
  • More than nine hundred new products expand premium shopping choices.

The weekly grocery run is changing. Across Dubai’s residential communities, consumers are increasingly seeking more than stocked shelves and quick transactions. They want convenience, quality, discovery and experiences that fit naturally into their daily routines. That shift in consumer behaviour is precisely what makes the new Carrefour Market Dubai concept at Jumeirah Park one of the UAE retail sector’s most significant developments this year.

Unveiled by Majid Al Futtaim, the new premium supermarket concept represents a major step in Carrefour’s broader transformation strategy, introducing a more elevated, food-focused and community-centred approach to grocery shopping.

Across global retail markets, premium neighbourhood stores have gained momentum as consumers prioritise fresh products, curated selections and experiential shopping environments. Dubai’s growing residential communities have become especially receptive to this model, where convenience and quality increasingly go hand in hand.

Spanning more than 2,200 square metres, the new Carrefour Market at Jumeirah Park Centre places food at the centre of the customer experience. Fresh and ready-made food offerings now account for 38 percent of the total selling area, a substantial increase from traditional supermarket formats.

Perhaps the clearest reflection of this strategy is the introduction of Carrefour’s first-ever BakeHouse Café. Designed as a neighbourhood gathering space, the concept combines specialty coffee, freshly baked products and casual dining, transforming grocery shopping into a social and lifestyle experience.

Consumer expectations around grocery retail have shifted dramatically over the past decade. Today’s shoppers expect curated products, premium experiences and access to global trends, all within their local communities.

The Jumeirah Park store responds directly to those expectations with more than 900 new products, including over 300 imported items, alongside expanded Fresh Market offerings, a redesigned Health & Beauty destination featuring dedicated K-Beauty sections, enhanced pet care categories and ready-to-eat food concepts.

Beyond product selection, the store’s streamlined layout reflects a growing focus on customer experience, comfort and ease of navigation. Combined with Majid Al Futtaim’s broader investment in premium market concepts across the UAE, the launch signals a wider transformation taking place across the country’s retail sector.

As Dubai’s communities continue evolving, supermarkets are increasingly becoming destinations rather than necessities. Carrefour’s newest concept suggests the future of grocery shopping may look much more like a lifestyle experience than a weekly errand!
