- The initiative welcomes delivery workers across every platform operating locally.
The familiar sight of delivery riders weaving through Dubai traffic has become one of the defining images of modern urban life in the UAE. From late-night food orders to essential deliveries during peak summer temperatures, these workers keep cities moving long after most people head indoors. This year, however, the conversation around delivery riders UAE is shifting beyond convenience and toward something equally important: care.
As temperatures climb across the Emirates, Careem has partnered with MAJRA National CSR Fund to launch its 2026 Captain Summer Initiatives, a nationwide programme designed to support delivery workers during the country’s most challenging season. Running from June through September, the initiative is expected to benefit more than 80,000 delivery workers across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Al Ain, regardless of which delivery platform they work for.
Across the UAE, heat protection measures for frontline workers have expanded significantly in recent years as both public and private sectors recognise the growing challenges posed by extreme summer temperatures. Delivery workers, in particular, face unique conditions due to the mobile nature of their jobs, often spending long hours outdoors while navigating busy urban environments.

Air-conditioned mobile rest areas will be positioned at high-traffic delivery locations, creating spaces where riders can pause, cool down and recover between deliveries. Hydration stations stocked with cold water, fresh juices and ice cream will also be available throughout key delivery zones.
Beyond refreshments and cooling facilities, the programme introduces an important new element: preventative healthcare. Through a partnership with the Pakistan Association Dubai, delivery workers will have access to free on-ground health screenings throughout the summer months.
PepsiCo joins the initiative as the Official Refreshment and Snack Partner, providing beverages and snacks across participating locations. Together, the partnership reflects a broader shift occurring across the UAE’s corporate landscape, where social responsibility increasingly focuses on practical, measurable support for frontline communities.
As delivery services continue shaping everyday life across the Emirates, initiatives like these highlight a growing recognition that convenience relies on people whose wellbeing deserves equal attention. This summer, the country’s delivery workers won’t just be keeping the UAE moving. They’ll also be receiving support designed to help them keep moving safely!
