Some songs belong to a particular moment, while others seem to follow people through every stage of life. One might soundtrack a late-night drive, another a family celebration, and another a packed dance floor where everyone knows the chorus. The UNIFYD festival is bringing several generations of Indian music together in Abu Dhabi on 20 March 2027, with Shah Rukh Khan curating a one-day celebration at Etihad Live on Yas Island. Expect a lot of familiar voices.
A playlist shared between friends can jump from a heartfelt Arijit Singh ballad to a Karan Aujla track before landing on a Sonu Nigam classic. That mix of musical moods is central to UNIFYD, whose announced headliners span different styles and generations. More than 15 artists will perform across multiple stages, creating a festival format that gives audiences more than one sound to follow. There’s room for different favourites.
For Sonu Nigam, the appearance carries a particular distinction. According to the organisers, he will perform at a music festival for the first time in his career, bringing a celebrated voice from Indian playback music into a large-scale live festival setting. Arijit Singh, a two-time National Film Award winner, and Punjabi music star Karan Aujla complete the announced trio. Three distinct musical identities, one date to remember.

Film songs often travel far beyond the cinema, becoming part of weddings, road trips and celebrations among friends who live thousands of kilometres from home. Shah Rukh Khan has spent more than three decades building connections with audiences through cinema, and UNIFYD takes that cultural reach into live music. As festival curator, he will shape its artistic direction and creative vision. This time, the stories unfold on stage.
Produced by D’YAVOL Live and District, the festival is being developed with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism and Miral, with Emirates NBD as an associate partner. Yas Island gives the event a setting familiar to residents who plan concert nights and weekend entertainment around the capital’s major attractions. The ambition reaches further, too, with organisers expressing plans to expand UNIFYD into other cities and markets.
For UAE-based South Asian communities, the appeal is easy to understand. A shared concert can bring together siblings with different playlists, friends travelling from Dubai, and fans who grew up hearing the same voices at home. UNIFYD takes place on 20 March 2027, with tickets sold exclusively through the District app. Check the app for ticket availability and festival updates, then start planning which songs you hope to hear live.
