Some jewellery catches the light. Other pieces hold attention long after the first glance, through the detail of a carved feather, the balance of a stone or the movement of gold against the skin. At JW Marriott Marquis in Business Bay, Tanishq Privé Dubai brings more than 800 rare high jewellery creations together for a three-day, invitation-only exhibition running from 23 to 25 October 2026. Here, craftsmanship takes centre stage.
A necklace can look sculptural on a display stand, but its real complexity often lies in how it moves when worn. At Tanishq Privé, some designs feature hinged joints and independently suspended elements that allow necklaces to follow the body in different rhythms. Others include detachable medallions and interchangeable centre stones, letting a single creation shift between necklace, pendant and maang tikka. There is engineering behind the beauty.
The details draw from centuries of Indian jewellery traditions. Garden-inspired pieces use vines and hanging forms, while peacock designs rely on engraved feathers and carefully set plumage. Navratna arrangements bring together nine traditional gems, and architectural motifs borrow from courtly pavilions, lattices, canopies and domes. Every element has a purpose.

One distinctive technique is the embrace setting, where gold rises around each stone in sculpted points instead of acting as a simple border. It makes the metal part of the visual composition. For visitors familiar with heirloom jewellery worn at weddings, festive gatherings and family celebrations across the UAE, these details offer a closer look at the skill behind pieces often admired from a distance.
Fashion and jewellery each demand patience, but bringing them together requires two kinds of handwork to speak the same language. At Privé, the Rahul Mishra x Tanishq collaboration makes its regional debut, combining the couturier’s hand-embroidered artistry with Tanishq’s high jewellery craftsmanship. The result connects two Indian creative traditions through intricate making rather than mass production.
The exhibition also gives invited guests access to the Diamond Expertise Centre experience, where live diamond testing takes place on site. Visitors can observe how stones are checked firsthand. It adds a practical dimension to the visual spectacle, allowing guests to see some of the expertise involved in verifying the diamonds themselves.
For Dubai’s jewellery enthusiasts, the appeal extends beyond the size of the collection. Tanishq has brought together work created by its in-house master craftspeople, including goldsmiths and stone-setting specialists whose skills can be seen across the pieces. The exhibition is open only by invitation and prior arrangement, and closes on 25 October. Those with access should make time to look closely. The smallest details may prove the most memorable!
