On October 5, 2024, Gargash Hospital, in collaboration with Being She, unveiled the “Future is Her” initiative as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This landmark event focused on raising awareness about breast cancer and promoting early detection through free ultrasounds, mammograms, and gynecological check-ups. With breast cancer accounting for 20% of cancer cases among women in the UAE, the initiative was a pivotal step in enhancing women’s access to preventative care and promoting holistic health.

The event aimed to empower women with critical knowledge and resources, providing free screenings, health talks by expert gynecologists, and self-care tips that highlighted the importance of routine check-ups, lifestyle changes, and mental health in cancer prevention. Women under 40 were encouraged to get routine ultrasounds, while women over 40 were advised to opt for mammograms or Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) for a more comprehensive diagnosis. ABUS, combined with mammography, significantly boosts breast cancer detection rates, offering better survival outcomes.

Ghada Sawalmah, CEO of Gargash Hospital, emphasized the hospital’s commitment to women’s healthcare. “We are proud to provide free health screenings and use the latest AI-powered technologies to ensure accurate diagnoses. Our goal is to inspire women to take charge of their health and prioritize early detection.”

Being She, founded by Aparna Bajpai, joined forces with Gargash Hospital to support women across the UAE through initiatives aimed at enhancing well-being and healthcare accessibility. “Partnering with Gargash Hospital allows us to extend breast cancer prevention efforts and empower women to prioritize their health,” Bajpai shared.
