The Hangout Dubai Brings A Fresh Buzz To Mall Of The Emirates!

Interactive games, new restaurants and outdoor dining reshape how Dubai spends time at MOE.

  • The Hangout brings four entertainment concepts under one roof.
  • Eighteen dining experiences add new reasons to linger longer.
  • Dubai’s cooler months will bring outdoor dining to MOE.
  • SOCO combines bowling, simulators, karaoke and social dining.

Some Dubai evenings are built around one simple question: where should everyone meet? A quick coffee can become dinner, dinner can turn into games, and suddenly nobody is ready to leave. The Hangout Dubai is tapping into exactly that habit, turning part of Mall of the Emirates into a new social and entertainment district where food, play and time together sit side by side.

A group of friends walking into a mall on Sheikh Zayed Road might once have split up between shopping, dinner and a movie. The Hangout changes that rhythm by putting four entertainment concepts alongside 18 F&B experiences within one connected district. It’s built for staying longer.

For competitive groups, Activate brings 12 light-up rooms and more than 50 interactive challenges, combining physical movement with fast-paced gameplay. It’s the sort of place where a casual afternoon can quickly turn into a very serious battle between friends. Expect bragging rights.

Families get a different kind of playground through Explorers, a 2,500-square-metre concept for children aged one to 12, with suspended net climbs, STEM-focused water play and hands-on workshops. Parents can actually join in too. Magic Planet will follow in 2027 with a reimagined family entertainment concept.

Then there’s SOCO, which feels made for the after-work crowd. Spanning 2,700 square metres, it will bring bowling, UAE-first simulators, AR darts, karaoke rooms and VIP party spaces together with food and drinks. It’s an easy fit for birthday groups, office teams or friends deciding where to spend Friday night.

Food is getting equal billing. Confirmed names include Fatt Pundit, Crunch, Apollo, Asma, Junk Smash Burger, Public Pizzeria, Crystal Jade Noodle Bar and Feels, with more concepts still to come. The idea is simple. Come hungry.

Dubai’s cooler months add another layer to the plan. The Hangout will feature Mall of the Emirates’ first dedicated outdoor F&B courtyard, creating a landscaped setting for al fresco meals, gatherings and events. That matters in a city where outdoor tables become prime real estate once the weather turns pleasant.

The timing feels particularly suited to Dubai’s seasonal rhythm. From October through April, outdoor activities and dining become a bigger part of the city’s social calendar, while malls remain central gathering points for residents and visitors. The Hangout brings those two habits together without asking anyone to choose between indoor comfort and an evening outside.

Opening in phases through 2026 and early 2027, The Hangout forms part of Mall of the Emirates’ wider AED 5 billion transformation. For regular MOE visitors, that means the familiar mall is gaining another reason to stop by, stay longer and make an ordinary evening feel less ordinary!
