Dubai Opera is thrilled to announce the first ten shows of its highly anticipated 2024-2025 season. Following a record-breaking previous season, Dubai Opera promises an even more exciting line-up that is set to captivate audiences and enrich the region’s cultural landscape.

The season begins with the Polish National Opera’s performances of Giuseppe Verdi’s iconic opera “Aida,” the ballet classic “Giselle,” and Beethoven’s symphonic masterpiece, “Symphony No. 9.” Each performance will be celebrated with a grand opening gala, setting the stage for an unforgettable season.

1. Opera: Aida (13-15 September 2024) Giuseppe Verdi’s “Aida” returns to the Dubai Opera stage, presented by the Polish National Opera under the baton of Patrick Fournillier and directed by Roberto Laganà Manoli. This timeless tale of love, sacrifice, and betrayal set in ancient Egypt is a must-see for both opera enthusiasts and newcomers.

2. Ballet: Giselle (18-21 September 2024) The immortal ballet “Giselle,” performed by the Polish National Ballet and Orchestra, tells the haunting story of a young girl transformed into a spirit. This romantic ballet, choreographed by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot, will mesmerize audiences with its ethereal beauty and emotional depth.

3. Symphonic: Beethoven’s 9th Symphony (22 September 2024) The National Polish Opera Orchestra will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, a masterpiece of Western classical music. 4. Concert: Carla Bruni (27 September 2024) Carla Bruni, known for her subtle melodies and alluring voice, will grace the stage with her captivating songs. Her performance promises an intimate and unforgettable evening, showcasing hits from her acclaimed debut album, “Quelqu’un m’a dit.”

5. Concert: Umberto Tozzi – The Final Tour (28 September 2024) Italian pop legend Umberto Tozzi brings his farewell tour to Dubai Opera. With hits like “Ti Amo” and “Gloria,” Tozzi’s emotive lyrics and unforgettable melodies will create a momentous evening for fans.

6. Concert: Gustavo Santaolalla (5 October 2024) Academy Award-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla celebrates the 25th anniversary of his iconic album “Ronroco.” Known for his evocative compositions, Santaolalla’s performance promises to be a highlight of the season.

7. Concert: Brad Mehldau (10 October 2024) Grammy Award-winning pianist Brad Mehldau will showcase his innovative approach to jazz. His performance will highlight his versatility and depth as an artist, promising an exceptional evening of jazz music.

8. Dance: Romeo and Juliet (17-18 October 2024) Acclaimed choreographer Benjamin Millepied presents a bold reimagining of Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet.” Combining cinema, dance, and theatre, this innovative production offers a fresh perspective on the classic tale, set to Prokofiev’s enduring score.

9. Concert: Il Volo (25 October 2024) The Italian operatic-pop trio Il Volo will enchant audiences with their unique blend of classical opera and Italian classics. Known for their mesmerizing harmonies, Il Volo promises an evening of captivating music.

10. Concert: Sophie Ellis-Bextor (26 October 2024) Pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor will deliver an electrifying performance featuring her chart-topping hits like “Murder on the Dance Floor.” Her concert promises a night of unforgettable music and energy.
